Magnificent coil bracelet from the 'Sweet Romance' collection by Shelley Cooper.  The beads and pearls of this serpent are evocative of the natural stone matrix and glass beads of the jewellery artifacts found in Thebes, the Valley of the Kings.

The Egyptian goddess Wadjet, was the serpent-headed protector of Lower Egypt.  She was revered the protector of children, and in later dynasties, the protector of kings.
