Several new characters, both enemies and allies of Action Man, were introduced over the title's run. It ran for 138 issues between 1996 and January 18, 2006 before being surpassed by spin-off series Action Man: A.Two years later his mission was extended to the British market, where he was unleashed by Palitoy as Action Man. The images were a mixture of colour and black and white photography, and bespoke line drawings and illustrations. Panini Comics began publishing Action Man in 1996, with the Marvel Comics logo being featured on the cover for the first few years of publication. Under Pugh’s guidance Action Man went from strength to strength, with the development of realistic hair, gripping hands and eagle eyes supported by an ever-growing array of equipment, uniforms, vehicles and weapons.
