Being able to zip in a fleece is a useful feature especially in winter, but this does affect the breathability a lot. We can accept goods back for exchange or refund or Credit, The goods need to be of re-saleable quality and all labels and relevant paperwork are present. The Cornice was first introduced in 1993 and since then, come wind, rain or shine, it has been the jacket of choice for walkers.

It is very well made and fits well, and the 2 hand pockets and 1 inner map pocket (both zipped) are deep enough .They are large enough to keep my hands warm (if there is space left), but would be too small for my husband's hands. Excellent product (a replacement for the same jacket now some 15 years old and worn out ) and I am very pleased with it. Durability is excellent as nothing has broken or torn, with only minimum wear on the cuffs and the waterproof performance is still excellent . The map pocket is perfect for an ipod, and the hood is excellent when most others around you have been caught unprepared!

I've worn it only once for a couple of hours walk in windy and drizzly conditions, so my comments are based on a limited experience. It kept the rain out in times of need, and yet had enough weight to keep the cold out on a bitter day. INSIDE LEG: Measure from the top of your inner leg, along the inside seam to the bottom of your leg. It offers excellent wind protection, without the stuffy feeling you sometimes get walking uphill in waterproof garments.What you wear under a waterproof jacket can be a very subjective question depending on what activity you are doing. OK, the pockets are not quite as deep but still useful enough and the overall quality bodes well for the next 20 years. The double Storm Flap on the centre-front zip really increases protection, and I do not like jackets that just have a front zip open to the elements. The Men's Cornice III GORE-TEX® Jacket from Berghaus is the jacket of choice for many walkers, whatever the weather. This is the third Berghaus jacket my husband has had all of a very similar design and all have been excellent quality and fit.

The bad: Those hand warmer pockets, when the jacket is zipped closed that is not a natural position for your hands / arms to be in, and they're a bit on the small side. I've had my current jacket for nearly 10 years and have used it almost every day for dog walking in all weathers as well as hillwalking in Ireland, Scotland, Lake District and Yorkshire.
