By the way, I have no idea how many chapters are in the six volumes, so I just wrote 24, assuming each volume has four chapters. A short plot summary about the manga “Doku Mushi” would help many anime and manga fans decide whether they want to watch this show or not. This manga is definitely not for the faint of heart, if you can't stomach gore and taboo subjects (and I mean severely taboo) then I don't recommend you read it. It makes the story more dynamic, and I can also see how people could go crazier when facing this type of situation.

Now, as of writing this review I have only actually read the first volume and skimmed the rest of the story. I heard about this monger through the anime man and once I heard him compared it to the likes of Saw and Battle Royale I knew I immediately had to check it out I'm a huge horror junkie so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and I was disappointed. The artist also draws lively facial expressions and narrates actions with good anatomy and composition. When you can read a manga without reading it at all, you realize there is a thin, thin, THIN line between a masterpiece and an utter piece of shit. YOU AFFIRM THAT YOU ARE OVER THE AGE OF 18 (OR, IF GREATER THAN 18, THE AGE OF MAJORITY IN YOUR JURISDICTION) AND ARE OF LEGAL AGE IN YOUR JURISDICTION OR RESIDENCE, OR POSSESS LEGAL PARENTAL OR GUARDIAN CONSENT TO ENTER INTO A BINDING CONTRACT. If you like splatter horror then you're in for a treat, but that doesn't really mean it's good and I think there are better horror manga out there.

Like many others here, I got recommended this by the henti man, and since I wanted to practice my japanese I gave it a go. This manga isn't redefining the wheel when it comes to horror and suspense, but it takes a basic 'Saw'-esque setting and really runs with it. I have to say having backstories for all of them was a nice touch, and made their behavior more understandable (except for the main character, fuck that guy). Again, the evil in some characters are vastly exaggerated and some don't make sense but, hey, this is a fiction. my personal recommendation skip this at least until it gets fully translated and check out Elfen lied and Another they are much better or experiences and are worth your time.

The pacing is also really nice but the developments are a bit scuffed, it feels like they only introduce character context and background when it's convenient while ignoring it the rest of the time.

However, upon reading only first few couple of chapter, it was really obvious to me that this is just another manga where the author tries to tackle a genre which he is not very good at. somethings happen that made me quite confused as to WHY a character did some stupid ass thing, this happens enough to make me slightly annoyed and seemed like a just a bunch of reasons to have some characters fight each other. Then we're introduced to a character, we get a flashback, something happens to said character and repeat the whole process. point where its comical but you can't reasonably expect all the characters to be like those in a shonen or romance/shoujo/josei manga where all the MC are perfect and you just have about 100 chapters of circling around the plot instead of developing it. Tone-deaf and unnecessary violence -unless it is purposefully dumb- usually gets a lot of hate because it cheapens the horror genre.
