Quite a few songs are heard only at rehearsals including "Separate Ways" (which would be released as a single in October 1972), the beautiful "Always on My Mind," "Johnny B. Elvis´voice seemed stronger, more focused and controlled and he attacked the songs at a totally different and powerful manner than what was the case in Greensboro and San Antonio. The Elvis On Tour box set has been produced by Ernest Mikael Jorgensen and includes new liner notes by Presley's longtime friend Jerry Schilling as well as an essay from Warren Zanes of The Del Fuegos. The reviewer remarked Parker's discrete appearance on the documentary and he praised the cinematography.

Adidge and Parker visited the tour locations while Abel made arrangements for the equipment and crew. I don't want to pick on Matt Ross Spang either, his mixing of the outtakes from the Jungle Room are top notch! The fact that Elvis gave me an opportunity to be a part of this film shows just how great a friend he was.

To have 4 never-before-released concerts in high quality audio and the Blue Ray version of the movie was a treat. A lovely and tender 'For The Good Times' is followed by a powerful ‘I Can't Stop Loving You' in the second half with a fine 'American Trilogy' (if not up to Hampton Roads). This is mostly unreleased, although some were issued on a couple of the specialist ‘Follow That Dream’ releases in 2001 and 2004 ( Elvis On Tour – The Rehearsals and Sunset Boulevard, respectively).
