About this deal

Not only did it not quench my thirst for another Maybe You Should Talk to Someone, it nearly put me off of the idea of books centering around therapists for good. MADELINE: A glamorous workaholic whose mother had greeted her each morning with “Good morning, Monster. Their immune system never rests—it’s seen so much danger that it’s scanning the environment constantly.

Although I found Good Morning, Monster lacking a little at times because it primarily focuses only on psychoanalytic/psychodynamic approaches, it was still very well done! Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages.

Visi penki aprašyti atvejai – tai iš pažiūros sėkmingi žmonės, padarę šaunias karjeras, sukūrę šeimas, jokių materialių dalykų nestokojantys. When Laura had been intent on defending her father, she'd blocked many of her negative memories of him; but now, after two years of therapy, those painful memories began to flow like hot lava. All five are quite different in terms of the ways in which the psychological damage manifested, but all are very much the same in that they started with mothers largely absent (whether through death, physical abandonment, or emotional abandonment) and fathers cruel or weak or hapless. I enjoyed her explanations of certain therapies and theories (which reminded me of all I had studied in college) and how she learned that each patient is different and adapts multiple therapeutic strategies for each person.however, i will admit that gildiner's storytelling and narrative style were so compulsively readable and came at just the right time - as i'm starting my own education as a psychologist/therapist. Both reference child abuse, substance misuse, verbal and physical abuse, sexual assault, rape, suicide, and suicidal ideation. The further I got into the book, the more I felt an oppressive, inescapable weight bearing down on me.
