The iris is more like a Prada iris and not a Dior makeup iris mixed with the cardamom it gives an upscale feeling and would never make anyone think you’re wearing cheap cologne. I won't say it entirely doesn't smell like uomo, as it has the vibe of the iris, but the iris is very much in the backseat to the spices, which is why I get more of a le male vibe. I don't own YSL La Nuit but I do own Valentino Uomo Intense and I do get both share the vanilla and iris but Halloween Shot Man is not even close to VUI. After it starts to dry it smooths out to a soft iris, leather, powdery vanilla and sweet cardamom scent that punches way above its weight class scent wise.

It's like Dior Homme or Valentino Uomo made a baby with YSL La Nuit De L'Homme and then drizzled it with a bit of honey. It is mainly The One's sweet ambery scent with YSL La Nuit de L'Homme's powdery cardamom/lavender combo. yes to clubbing, socializing, events, restaurants, bars, dates, romancing, sex, office, picnics, weaddings, movies, birthday gift.

What I will say is I will no longer be purchasing le male as it's new reformulation is trash as it is. I already have Man X which I really love and that one performs to a very high standard, so I had high expectations for Man Shot. To me, this would make it more wearable (for anyone), if not for the fact that it smells very cheaply made. I may not get the depth or complexity here that I could with a vintage scent, but if I want this combination of notes I know I can reach for this one and I won't be disappointed (whereas with vintage there's often something I don't like in the composition, such as obvious lavender).

I am really bummed because this was supposed to fit the hole left behind by LNDL and the recent-ish poor performance of that. I've also found that the longer I've had the bottle, the less synthetic and astringent, and the more creamy and smooth it's become.The major drawback of this fragrance is that it tries to combine so many different fragrances, leaving one sort of bland, muddy mess.

Lemon daiquiri, dark spices, vanilla, leather, iris, cardamom, and amberwood, are the very well blended notes that I detect.Performs well, I get about 4 hours for it at a decent projection where it's strong enough to smell it but not too strong that it's annoying.
