Johnny Neill is an eighth generation distiller, and direct descendant of Thomas Greenall and JJ Whitley. This is the second one in this range I've tried (I didn't like the nettle), guess I like classic gin. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. Whitley Neill Gin is distilled at the multi-award-winning City of London Distillery, the first, and still the only, gin distillery in The City of London in 200 years. Wonderful smoothness with a clear scents of juniper, perfectly complimented with hints of citrus, spice and Parma violets. The Whitley and Neill families have been involved in the creation of outstanding spirits since 1762 and are currently proud holders of multiple awards.

Johnny Neill’s first creation was The Whitley Neill London Dry Gin, a classic dry gin but not as you know it, softer and much smoother than traditional Gins, with rich juniper notes, citrus and exotic botanicals Baobab fruit and Cape gooseberry. Whitley Gin is brought to us from 8 generations of distilling and using a classic London dry recipe with the likes of Orange Peel, Cassia Bar and Orris Root as just some of the Botanicals.A flavour full of delicious red berries alongside zesty citrus notes ending in a slight peppery finish. However, the choice of inspiration for the brand name suggests that as a brand they’re conscious to root its product within traditional British heritage and values. Aromatic botanical ingredients including crisp juniper, coriander and orange peel produce a smooth and fresh, London Dry Gin using ingredients sourced from around the globe. The goal of the City of London Distillery has always been to bring back and maintain the heritage and history of London’s gin production whilst incorporating new contemporary ideas.Using nine of the highest quality botanicals, Johnny launched Whitley Neill Gin, its Original London Dry Gin and a range of flavours inspired by both his and his ancestors travels around the world, cementing him as one of the pioneers of the early gin boom. The experimentation doesn’t end with gin, however, the two vodkas that conclude the line-up feature a a rhubarb vodka that contains natural rhubarb extract and 100% potato vodka. The JJ Whitley range is inspired by the British countryside and comprises subtle and unusual flavours and a family tradition of distilling and high quality liquids. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. As he grew older, the English countryside became the natural source of key ingredients for tantalising recipes like this Elderflower Gin, made with real elderflower extract.

The eponymous floral element is combined with a selection of eight additional botanicals along the lines of juniper, coriander, liquorice and angelica, and it boasts a pleasing pink hue.
