About this deal

In the book, we’re told that both main characters have hard family situations, but we never get to see much of that. Sometimes with books where the main guy character is a popular and well-liked jock, the girl is shy and nerdy or whatever. This story had good progression and never felt like it was constructed for the sole purpose of a plot ploy. I cant wait for his book because I hope the tension gets resolved and he eventually learns to get along with Wes. They confided in each other about the ways of the world, about the issues they faced, and I think if they had been any different in their characters their roles, they never would’ve shared it.

One glimpse of her viridian eyes makes me forget about the decades-long rivalry between our two towns. For me, I’m a bit critical when it comes to YA because of the impressionable audience it targets and the harmful, irresponsible messages that can be relayed to them. I especially liked that before any attraction was there, they both felt like they could talk to each other about their messed up home situations. It was unfair to her because she genuinely didn’t cheat and he didn’t even give her a chance to explain before kissing someone else. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products.

Maeve and Wes are from different towns in the same lake, where the sports rivalry between the high schools is intense. Second, I raise to you this: He deliberately made out with a girl he used to hook up with in front of the heroine in an attempt to HURT her because if he’s in pain (over some bullshit, I remind you), so should she…. Because I had an inkling Weston Cole had the potential to implode my cautious, predictable world from that moment in the woods, long before I had any real reason to suspect he might.Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). I mean, yes, I knew what was going to happen all along, but jeez, I had no right being this entertained while reading about some small town football rivalry. I don't read a lot of YA anymore and there were a lot of situations in this book that reminded me why I don't, but despite that, I liked Wes and Maeve's relationship and there was a lot of cuteness. When it did happen, even though they weren't on speaking terms they still showed up for each other when it came to their games (he plays american football and she plays soccer aka real football lol).

Wes saw her for her lifelong achievements, her running in the morning, extra time spent every second on the soccer field. Homegirl was a Mary Sue but she was the only character with some semblance of depth in this entire book. It wasn't that bad, per se, but the rival angle seemed a bit of a stretch, because while the couple's relationship was a secret, due to the rivalry and enmity between their two respective schools, the resolution of said conflict was rather softly-handled.For a typical YA it was going fine, kinda boring and lacking in romantic chemistry but fine, until Wes became your typical dumbass jock that jumps to the first conclusion before even hearing out a proper explanation and uses his woe is me and my parents aren’t perfect boohoo thing to excuse his own behavior and unfaithfulness. I somehow missed the fact that this was a high school romance before reading it 😅 But I had great time! It was interesting to read a book where the female lead is also sporty as I hadn’t read anything like that before, it was nice to see them bonding over sports.

Don’t even get me started on how the misunderstanding was because someone made a move on the FMC without her consent. And one memorable kiss etched forever in their hearts is enough of an incentive to sneak around and steal stolen kisses, exchange warm affection and tender touches, and prove to the other that if not for this inane competitiveness between their towns, they would not hide in the shadows. You know that episode of Friends where Joey is writing a reference letter for Chandler and Monica's adoption and Ross teaches him to use a thesaurus to sound smarter? Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. One conversation with 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐞 (H) her brother’s rival makes her forget about the decades long rivalry between their two towns. First of all, I have to say that the premise of this story is so simple, but there is a whole lot of perfection in that simplicity.
