About this deal

I won’t spoil it for those weirdos like me who haven’t read this before but legitimately at 35% through I found religion because god do I love Jess so much. She might have developed an excitingly checkered career had her spouse not nagged her into writing fiction. Jessica is on a mission to prise her brother from the clutches of teh monster who is ruining his life, but when she meets the Marquis she cannot keep away and things get very complicated.

In the story's prologue, Sebastian Ballister is born in Devon to the 2nd Marquess of Dain and his Italian wife, Lucia Usignuolo.Lord of Scoundrels is a retelling of the fairytale Beauty and the Beast, with the author stating that like the Beast, Dain is an outcast and misfit among his society. But how can you just do this big jump start all at once, even thou it changes all your former beliefs?

Once caught in the said position, Lord Dain assumes the worst, being that Jessica schemed to be compromised so she could marry him, which she would NEVER, he could only wish. Sebastian, now the intelligent but immoral 3rd Marquess of Dain, meets his match in Miss Jessica Trent, who has arrived in the city to rescue her unintelligent, nearly penniless brother Bertie from Dain's bad influence. I also admire the author to provide Jessica with all the verbal and physical attire of an intelligent and attractive woman.

The Marquess is disgusted with the child, describing him as the "Devil's spawn" and a "wizened olive thing with large black eyes, ill-proportioned limbs, and a grossly oversize nose". A good romantic fun read that for me held me glued to my Kindle until the last page - it is in my history as a must read again! But, having said that, I understand that although I didn't like some aspects, that's not the case for everyone, as is obvious from the book's enduring popularity.

He is very rude to her as he does not spend time with ladies (other than prostitutes) after one tried to trap him into marriage years ago. Lord of Scoundrels is a story so well laid out and so beautifully told that it will forever hold a special place in my heart. But more ghastly than Dain’s sudden understanding of his mothers (totally unrealistic) motives was the fact that even thou the whole book he goes on an on about how eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil his kid is (and between you and me the kid is kind of eeeeeevil) he just poof! This novel will appeal to readers who delight in strong and intelligent characters and to readers who want to know what makes a character tick. Not that Kate Reading didn't do a wonderful job but I find her voice distracting sometimes especially while voicing Dain. But Dain is not pitiful by any means: He’s smart, cynical, and sarcastic, with a sharp eye for the ridiculous. He took those issues on to anyone foolish enough to cross him, and I understood why, and I liked this grumbling, sarcastic, insulting man regardless of his words and actions.

Independent ladies that for anything in the world do not want to be married by a dominant tall, dark-eyed scary man. The prologue was quite long and didn’t really make much sense – but eventually I’m glad because it tied the whole story nicely. But underneath his philandering sneer lies a complicated, self-doubting and broken man who can be gradually mended by the love of the right woman. Dein, who does not know how to pull his penis out before ejaculating, put him in a safe little home? This book was written over 25 years ago, and I dare anyone to try to say that Jessica Trent isn't the most bad-ass heroine out there. A lot of gossiping, wacky characters, hilarious remarks, indescribably funny critical self-analysis and a lighthearted tone of the whole. Perhaps you will enjoy this more than me - especially if you love Beauty and the Beast, and find the plot of an intelligent woman being saddled with a sulky, miserable man appealing.
