Now, this is, of course, my own experience, and some people with smaller ears may have a very comfortable fit but compared to the Hifiman Edition S which also is a very small circumaural it doesn’t clear my outer ear quite as well. The first cable doesn’t have playback controls or anything like that, but the second one comes with a mic and in-line controls about an inch or two down from the left ear cup.

I won't say they are bass canons because they are not, but they provide the sufficient quantity to match almost any music genre. I actually really enjoy the treble on the 99 Classic for it’s laid back, relaxed tone that doesn’t stress the ears all the while delivering a detailed sound.And don’t forget the movies or you’ll be missing out entirely on another of its wonderful strengths! Still, there is lots of depth and clarity, and that overtone of warmth really makes them great for rock and acoustic listening. There is a decent amount of details within the bass, though it can get a little muddled on busier tracks. I have to salute whoever created this design from an aesthetical standpoint alone; they are one of the best-looking headphones I have tried to date.
