About this deal

As Gabby navigates the challenges of single motherhood, she realizes that she has been repeating the same mistakes her mother and stepmother made with her. We also step deep into the emotional roller coaster that takes off when we realize that there are some things we can’t control - other’s actions.

Because of what her husband Liam done however she had no other choice and no other place to go but her staying with Jill will not only open her eyes but change her outlook about those closest to her. Her parents, Annie (Alison Robertson) and Daniel (Jon Briddell), attribute their daughter’s behavior as her way of lashing out at them for their divorce, and for Daniel re-marrying so soon afterward. With a struggling mother of two, a broken marriage, family secrets, a 'wicked stepmother' and so much more, there were elements of the story I could relate to, and with so much going on, i'm sure many of Emmas other readers will too.In the end, when all the secrets are revealed, you can either let history repeat itself or you can act. Gabbie, who is carrying a secret that forced her to flee her family home, must confront her feelings towards her stepmother, whom she has always resented. Highly charged topics from addiction, bullying, infidelity, affairs, family secrets, marriage, relationships, self-awareness, and second chances.

It is a glimpse at the lengths we go to for our children's happiness with good intentions, but at a detriment to ourselves. Gabbie is an absolutely amazing Mum who was continuously putting herself last and doing what she thinks is right for her children. regardless of whether I liked, loved or hated them they all worked together perfectly to make yet another exceptional read by the amazing Emma!

First, I want to thank Emma Robinson, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review. When Gabbie finds out that her husband has been keeping secrets that affect her and their two daughters, she packs up her car and heads to the only place she can go - the house she grew up in. The novel delves into the complexities of family dynamics and the impact of hidden truths on relationships.

When I pick a book by this author I know, even before I have opened it, that I am in for a fabulous heartwarming as well as heartbreaking story.

She was a lovely friend who would drop anything to come out to help her regardless of their past separation. As Robinson explores the truths we believe and the extent we’ll go to uncover the truth, readers are pulled into Gracie and Gabbie’s lives. Make sure you read to the very end of the book to read the prologue and first three chapters of Emma's absolutely stunning 'My Husband's Daughter' which is another emotional page turner and one I have read myself and would highly recommend! This book isn't just filled with emotions but also shocks and surprises that absolutely blew my mind and I just was not expecting at all!

It was non stop and just when you think things couldn't get any worse for Gabbie and her family something else came smashing towards them around the corner. So I told her parents that she wasn’t much of a stepmother and that dating my dad before my mom had even died wasn’t something a good person would do. Maybe I'm heartless and petty, but if I was in Gabbie's place I would have thrown my husband under the bus from the beginning, after making sure my kids and I would be ok.
