This wood paste is well suited for facing-off beam repairs where the uncured material may be grained to match the existing timber and for filling in tack damaged, rotten or woodworm infested furniture and similar items. Also the potential presence of any air voids between the gelcoat and the putty can show up as surface blisters on the gelcoat when this system is run up to high temperature. With a 3:1 mixing ratio the cured product gives excellent mechanical strength and is easily machinable and ideal for metallic surfaces. With a work time of 60 minutes, Industrial Metal can be mixed in large quantities and allows for greater coverage over significant sections of damage.

The Base and Curing Agent components shall be thoroughly mixed together using a stiff spatula or a slow speed drill with paddle attachment until a uniform grey mixture has been produced. Working outside or in a garage with a temperature of 10°c – 16°c may double the length of time until full hardness (over 48 hours). Industrial Metal Rapid should be pushed in firmly to ensure maximum contact and to avoid trapping air between the paste and the surface. If you're looking for a putty or paste that you could use in this way then you'd probably be best making something like this by chopping up some woven glass into short strands and then mixing this (at a high percentage) into some of the coupling coat.
