The Granny Square Book, Second Edition, offers crocheters at all skill levels more, and more to love about, this timeless motif. My first book was published in 1978, and I just completed my 19th book In addition to the books, I have 2 independently produced video’s/dvd’s, and 3 self published entrelac crochet patterns. The second edition also includes the 12 floral granny square patterns from Granny Square Flower Garden. It's available on Kindle, not too expensive there, and although on my old kindle (Generation 1) It's only black-and-white, it's good enough for my use. The spiral binding isn't always my favourite because extra care is needed to avoid damaging the pages when flipping from page to page BUT it does sit perfectly flat which makes it easier to work from.

The humble granny square gets a fresh new look in this collection of 100 3D granny square crochet patterns. Etsy’s 100% renewable electricity commitment includes the electricity used by the data centres that host Etsy. This is a spiral bound book with the heavy cardbord cover, while it lays flat for easy working I am afraid that with too much use the pages will start to tear at the spiral. The first chapter has over a dozen projects for the home, ranging from a blue-and-white mug cosy which can be made in less than an hour, to a stunning bed cover.Lifespan: Most cookies are session cookies (which are only active until you close your browser) or are cookies which are only active for one day. I treated myself to this book because I had bought a magazine with the pattern for the wrap (on the front cover) inside it. Because you are working on small pieces at a time, you can take your project with you and work inconspicuously if necessary. They are: a vase cover of square dance squares, hand warmer of the Tudor rose squares (a must-do), a pillow of cappuccino lace squares, a pincushion of floral rings, a scarf of daisy loop squares (lovely), a mat of dog rose triangles, shoulder bag of alpine meadow squares, baby blanket of filet hearts. They both did say that it was harder than they thought it would be… so there are obviously a mix of easy designs and more challenging ones in the book. In this section you will find an overview of the basic techniques and tools used for crocheting and for making granny squares. Now designer and author Margaret Hubert has updated her bestselling and beloved book to include 25 additional crochet squares (for a total of 100! The introduction includes reflections on the Hubert family's love of grannies, as well as personal quotes from other crochet designers about granny squares.

Wrap the yarn over the hook twice, insert the hook into the specified stitch, and wrap the yarn over the hook again. It’s what I love to do most and so my book, Granny Square Flair, has fifty 6″ granny square patterns for you to play with. It's not easy to make garments and accessories featuring granny squares look fresh and contemporary, but several of Hubert's creations are quite fashionable. The instructional information is very helpful for any crocheter who wants to take their skills to the next level. There are 75 different squares shown, and then the last third of the book has patterns in which to use some of those squares. Also included are projects that show you how to make the squares into a simple baby blanket, arm warmers, a purse, a pin cushion, a mug cosy and a stylish pair of boot toppers. There are suggestions in the book for edgings and how to join the squares, plus a guide on how to read the pattens and charts as well as a couple of pages on ‘Working with Colour’. After a while I am really leery to spend money on a pattern that says easy “( Its finding the one designer that you can understand what they have written. Choose your favourite from 100 different designs including flowers, animals, food and drink, and motifs; whether it's a fragrant rose, a cherry pie or a jellyfish. They originated with pioneer women using up precious scraps of yarn to make blankets for their families, and over the years, many recognized, named patterns have been handed down from one generation to the next. Wrap the yarn over the hook again and draw it through two of the loops so there are now two loops on the hook (2). Holding the tail between your thumb and middle finger, slide the hook under the wraps and catch the working yarn. I hesitated in purchasing this one simply because I tend to think of granny squares as only for blankets.
