Parrots feet are usually on the cold side so I would assume that standing on something heated is not in their best interest (you can't believe everything the manufacturer tells you about any product and the bird industry has A LOT of things that are not safe for birds). While it is likely your perch will serve you well when you get it, there does run the risk of it getting too hot. It's my understanding that the chickens do not need the heat and the most important thing of all is to make sure there is adequate ventilation.
