About this deal

I know kids are taught that spelling doesn’t matter as long as they make their point I’m old enough to have been taught how to spell and punctuate and this does detract from the story! It is not included in promotions available to our main range products, as stated in our terms of service. It’s hard to believe that this is book 20 in the DCI Ryan seriesbut its always good to be back in the company of Ryan and the team. In addition to her DCI Ryan series, Louise has created a new series of thriller novels based around the central character of ‘Dr Alexander Gregory’, whose work as a psychological profiler takes him around the world. The banter between Ryan and Frank as well as Franks forced dieting adds some great humor with the case gripping the reader and have them trying to solve it before they do.

Bright and brave, loving and endlessly patient, Anna sees the very best in others and seeks always to lift them up. With Denise threatening anyone and everyone in the building to not let Frank have any treats as he’s supposed to be on a diet, the wily ways of the two of them is something to behold. His gruff, no-nonsense exterior and bawdy sense of humour belies a soft-hearted interior, which he reserves for those he loves. She studied undergraduate and postgraduate Law at King’s College, University of London and then abroad in Paris and Florence. The death of one of the locals isn’t as clear cut as everyone seems to think and it’s great seeing the team working together as the case gets more twisted and complicated. Jonathan Keeble, as always, brought the main, much-loved, characters to life which is what made me keep listening.

Ryan and Frank follow the clues, and then a skeleton is found, throwing them a little, but they come to the conclusion of who is the murderer, but who killed many years earlier? There were several long and very didactic paragraphs about (supposedly) the characters opinions on these topics.Often when I read crime fiction I can work out whodunit by halfway but in this story I only realised when Ryan did. ABOUT LJ ROSS LJ Ross is an international bestselling author, whose books have sold over 8 million copies worldwide. LJ Ross is an internationally bestselling author, whose books have sold over 7 million copies worldwide. Not that I don’t like the characters I do but everything feels so settled and nice like an old cardigan.

When I settle down with these stories I feel like I’m just catching up with some old friends, they’re absolutely wonderful characters and having learnt so much about them along the journey of these mysteries, I feel like I actually know them. The thing that makes these books addictive is that alongside the investigations we get to become part of the lives of the characters when they leave the station for the day. Lady’s Well is probably one of new favourites in the series with plenty of twists that had me hooked. Tough, classy and resilient, Denise MacKenzie is an outstanding detective and friend who goes above and beyond, but seldom suffers fools gladly. The plot, the treatment of the characters, the style, the language have little in common with all the other books of the series.I was left feeling that it was only two-thirds of a book, clearly meant to keep you hanging on for the next instalment. DCI Ryan and his team caught a mysterious case of Well turning red, and the entire village of Holystone suffered from poisoning, which caused an older man to die. The main focus was on Melanie who is still struggling with events in the previous book and her decisions whilst may be right for her may have you wondering what next and how the team will be affected and will definitely have you waiting for the next instalment. It's a fair enough thing, and I get why someone might be insecure about it if people are being snobby, but this seemed overkill, and the entire scene seemed to be there to justify self-publishing, and then absolutely nothing happened about that whole storyline.
