About this deal

However, there was only one more set released the following year, the 10210 Imperial Flagship (2010) which was the largest vessel in Lego Pirates ever released. Or is the fact that Bluecoats are the oldest of the factions and thereby the "young dumb masses of redcoats" are put up against the hardened veterans of the Bluecoats? Now we have the large set released this year, it comes on two (yes two) full sized (32 x32) baseplates, one of which is raised. Overall it’s a simple little set and I like the leaves but the one thing I don’t get is why the flag, surly the pirate would not want to advertise his presence to others. Although a professional historian may be able to provide evidence of a period when the French uniforms were closer to the bluecoat minifigures.

This set comes with great building possibilities, if you owned one of the large pirate bases from 1991 or 1989 then this set could be used at add to the structure and make it bigger. The souvenir guide also provided information about each exhibit including its name, how many pieces it contained and the number of hours it took to construct. I remember thinking at the time, wow I can swap the multiple captains legs with some of the regular crew and as such create variety.

Together with his friend Bo'sun Will and his first mate Rummy, Captain Redbeard encounters countless adventures of swash-buckling, sailing, treasure hunting and piracy. Fact is that most British members here prefer redcoats, and Bluecoats are much more often referred to France instead of another country. Lego Group has also released a variety of official Pirate Lego merchandise ranging from clothing to stick-on tattoos to board games. Most collectors (kids with bricks) made the Bluecoats and Redcoats team up at this point due to the fact that most of them where greatly outnumbered. Both only sided as the enemies of the Pirates, and have never occurred together in LEGO "prime fiction"?

Red Beard Runner (1996), which replaced 6286, drew criticism for "battle damage" features like the tumbling forward mast and collapsing quarterdeck as these made the assembled set unstable. LEGO and the LEGO Minifigure are trademarks of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site or these products. I like to believe that the two pirates with moustaches where from the original set and have found themselves unlucky again (especially the one who lost a leg between 1989 and 1992). In honesty I hated it when I first got it, but it grew on me, it’s nice to have a smaller ship and it should be noted that this is the only pirate ship that was commanded by someone other the Redbeard, that someone was Ironhook(its a shame that the second attempt at this really failed). The top-left corner of odd pages contained information and an illustrated portrait of infamous pirates from history including Blackbeard and Bartholomew Roberts, while the top-right hand corners of the even pages included a picture of that pirate's flag. Reddit and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to provide you with a better experience. It must be noted that the cost worked out as three of these ships compared to one Black Sea Barracuda or Skull Eye’s Schooner, and a fleet of three of these looks really nice (especially if you have a Schooner or Barracuda following behind). In honesty both the sets are of a very high-class, and it is nice to have the luxury of choice over a favourite rather than there being only one good set, more of this say’s I arrrg.
