About this deal
These Merrell Zion shoes include a M-Select™ DRY waterproof membrane, designed to wick away unwanted moisture for a drier foot environment.
Unless we’re heading into a swampy forest where we prefer a taller-cuffed boot, the Zion has become our go-to for wet-weather hiking. Thanks to the GORE-TEX membrane the boot is also waterproof, even in the pouring rain, so the wearer always enjoys dry comfort.
We are also impressed with the lace up closure which includes metallic eyelets, fabric loops and integrated webbing which wraps around the laces to achieve a locked in fit. If your parcel is small and of low value, it will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48, other items will be sent via courier. The slimmer cut is good for narrow feet, but there’s enough stretch in the upper to accommodate wider feet, too. We are unable to advise the exact amount as these charges vary and are determined by the destination country's customs department. Adrienne Donica tested hiking, camping, and other adventure gear as Popular Mechanics' outdoors editor, before going on to edit gear reviews for Popular Mechanics, Runner's World, and Bicycling as Expert Reviews editor.Although they did feel a tad wider and bulkier than other shoes, perhaps because the design is not particularly streamlined. Or, in other words, the FlexPlate will absorb and disperse shock as you hike over rugged, rough terrain, providing enough rigidity to protect you against unhealthy twisting or turning of the foot and ankle. They were very lightweight too (lighter than many other pairs of approach shoes I’ve owned in the past), which made me feel fast, light and nimble on my feet.
