What I really like is the author gives honest accounts of the places, if one is a bit run down, you know about it before you go so you’re not expecting 5* luxury at the end of your walk. however, the maps were rough hand-drawn, artistic yes, but of zero navigational value, which was a great disappointment. Some don’t like that they are advertised in this way, but for those truly interested and willing to follow the code and treat them with respect, it is an invaluable resource that I would highly recommend.Know what to take, where to get water and fuel, how to cross a river when in spate and what to do in an emergency.
