About this deal

That said, a COMPETENT therapist who keeps a safe and sound distance from the medicator is essential.

Jo campaigns for a paradigm shift away from the bio medical model narrative of mental distress toward a more appropriate trauma informed response.Anyone who wants to deal with the epidemic of distress and despair in our society should engage deeply with Jo Watson's work and this massively important book. Because when a counsellor is attempting to understand a client and empathise with their personal story they are trained to be aware of difference and diversity and resist categorisation and the generalisation that is found within a diagnosis or label. This book is packed with rich narratives, incisive analysis and powerful critiques of a world where everyday emotions are increasingly seen as disease.Unlike some of the more radical commenters I’m in favor of certain forms of therapy and counseling between CONSENTING adults. Feeling dark gloomy and lost- in amongst a darkness of thought and emotion— obviously needs- light – all i get in my mind -and thoughts – visual- are a small group of psyches chuckling – giggling away- after having made sure all the lights are off- and their crouched- watching behind a cover- the person- who needs the light to see- stumbling around in the dark- where they were once – free at least- and are now incarcerated in the dark- with no freedom.

However, many, many people never hear or find an alternative to the model that your brain is broken and you need to take drugs indefinitely.
