About this deal

I really love Raven Kennedy’s writing, and I would have read this whole book in one sitting if it wasn’t for my body’s stupid need for sleep… 🙄 Seriously though, this book is even better than the first one, and this series is definitely a new favorite of mine and an addictive guilty pleasure.

Because-here’s the kicker- I can tell you EXACTLY where I and this book/series collide– His name is Rip, and it couldn’t be more on the nose if it tried, because I am dead, dying, and dripping golden goo at my seams, I’m Resting In [a million] Pieces because of this tall, dark, otherworldly man. But at what point have you actually seen him let that woman go, let her make her own faults, decisions, let her be who she wants to be even if it stifles her, all the while it kills him inside. All the grief, all the worry, I wrap it up like old yarn on a spool, tucking away every frayed strand. Ultimately, the reason I decided to read this series was because I seen it labelled as fantasy with heavy romantic elements and its constant comparison to ACOTAR.I thought that was the turning point for me, but the next chapter literally starts with "the fire has gone out" and that's how I felt with the romance too 😬. Auren doesn't fully trust him yet, especially after that major revelation right at the end, even though she clearly can't help her attraction to him. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.

Step into a new world a realm of dark romantic fantasy in which your wildest dreams, and worst nightmares, come true . Seiler has masterful command of a subtle style, both skittish and firm in its diction and movement, tense and tensile in its branching extensions and jittery vertiginous drops. Are people so content in ignorance that they’ll believe every lie fed to them, despite what they see right in front of their eyes? The main focus of Glint is character development, as well as introducing a whole ton of new characters (Lu is my favourite) and taking the time to get to know them.

I don’t care WHO disagrees, I am ready to put up my dukes, because there is NO room for disagreements here, no lies detected. Glint takes place immediately after the events of Gild, with Auren and the other royal Saddles captured by the fourth kingdom’s soldiers. But it’s good to see that sex work can be good for those who do it, provided they have some power and get treated right.

She goes from a compliant captive, too naive to see how horribly she's been treated, to a young woman gradually realizing that she deserves much more than what she's been given. There was barely any romance in this honestly like it wasn’t a huge focus, which I’m totally fine with since all this sets it up for the next book anyways.
