Where you move to another property within Somerset and you wish to transfer your subscription to the new address you must give Somerset Council 10 days’ notice of the change of address.

If you live in a flatted property or a house, managed by a factor or a housing association, you must contact them directly, if you require a green bin. We are committed to reducing the amount of waste we collect, so we regularly review whether additional bins are still needed. From August 2023, all non-recyclable general waste from your green bin and from the bulky and black bag skips at recycling centres will be sent to an Energy from Waste Facility. If you don't wish to pay for a green bin, you can compost the leaves or take them to a recycling centre.Our online payments system uses 3D Secure 2, also known as Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode, for added security and fraud prevention. Please do not present bagged waste next to your green bin, the collection teams will not collect it.

If your bin has not been collected you should have received a bin tag informing you of the reasons why this has happened. Where you receive such notice you may cancel your subscription by providing Somerset Council with 30 days’ notice.Any material that can be recycled in the burgundy bin, blue bin, brown bin, black box or textile bag must not be placed in your green bin. Once we receive your completed waste audit application, it will be reviewed and we will let you know the outcome of your request.
