Unfortunately a lot of reviews are taken as a direct stab to the author or the book, instead of as they should be take, an opinion. That's just my opinion and the last time I checked this book still has raving reviews, and was not too poorly affected by my seemingly unpopular opinion. I went into this book thinking it would be something like the mind f*ck series cause it had the same trigger warnings. Stop being hostile towards the people that went to the reviews to see what the TW are, or to people like Corrina that were honest to put bluntly what happens in this book. These scenes are so corny, I mean there’s these senators who are doing it and Z and his group are trying to hack into their society which hey?

People excuse this by saying it was cnc and even though I never kink shame, it was just not something i could easily fathom. This fascinated me way more than the grandma ghost story in the first book, and gave a seriously better plot line.Haunting Adeline is a dark, riveting tale, that creeps into your mind and stays with you for days after. There are a lot of different people in the world, and non-con is a fantasy for some, others not so much. The contents are very dark with triggering situations, such as non/dub con between the main characters, graphic violence, human trafficking, child slave trade, stalking, child trafficking, child sacrifice, mentions of child death, kidnapping, near-death situations, and explicit sexual situations. odio como la autora quiso hacer ver al protagonista masculino como si fuera una re buena persona, porque salva niños y "ayuda a la comunidad", el chabon después de violarla incluso ADMITE que lo que hizo esa mal pero esta en plan "pero bueno, era lo yo que quería, era imposible no hacerlo" TE QUIERO PRESO HIJO DE PUTA. The fact that I've seen people on TikTok say that Zade is their top book BF genuinely concerns me and isn't something I want to think too much about 😭.

The worst thing about this book, for me, is how overly corny it is in its attempt to justify itself. Maybe I went into this a little "ignorant" as you said, but I'd say I go into most books that way as I don't like too many spoilers. Now, I've been reading some dark romances for the fuck of it, and I could honestly get over it because I've learned that there are parameters in books where exploring shit like this can be cathartic. This piece of literature is so dark and disturbed, I have no clue how I haven’t checked myself into a nunnery yet.So, it was more playful and fun and even more personal, which made the chemistry much more believable. Lastly, I did dnf this book, and I guess it is possible for it to get better (i think i heard the second book is better) but I'm really not interested in giving this book another chance.

There’s a parallel story where our dark knight is also a hero chasing pedophiles, witch, u know, is a good thing! if you like super dark and kinky stuff thatll make you question your mental well being, this is for you! Anyway, definitely dropping this book, i really tried to power through telling myself that he must do something to redeem himself from the stalking and shit, but there is not redeeming rape to me.Still a dumb reason that i don't agree with but then she forgives him anyway) like i don't think rape counts as dark romance, its not romantic. When you make someone fall in love with the darkest parts of you, there’s nothing you can do that will scare them away. Dark romance to be is like the mans a dickhead and does things that make me infuriated blah blah blah then later they fall in love and he's like "i did it because of this reason!
