All the reasons why people enjoyed and liked the GT3 original wheel carry across into this one but with obviously the added benefit of the improvement that they made. If you want to use this wheel rim with a Fanatec direct drive base, you will however require the ClubSport Quick Release Adaptor. The adapter is also removable and can be replaced with the QR1 Wheel-Side (ClubSport Quick Release Adapter), unlocking the High Torque Mode on Podium wheelbases. This is the second version of the McLaren GT3 wheel, now reintroduced and compatible with the ClubSport Light Elite Wheel Base, as well as all other current wheel bases. This high performance mode allows the direct drive wheel base to use its full amount of torque with this wheel.

There is a brake and throttle mode so if you have a disability, you can use the paddles for your brake and throttle. This wheel makes use of the simplified system which allows you to attach and detach the wheel without any tools. The wheel has a 300 mm diameter which I find to be pretty much ideal as a versatile wheel for all sort of different style s of driving. That would seem to be a more thoughtful design, but alas, it’s not the one Fanatec has gone with here.
