However, these downsides are outweighed by the overall performance and enjoyment the light kit brings to the Monastery of Spinjitzu. In March of the Oni, all rooms in the monastery are entered from the outside, but in Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu, the rooms are connected by a corridor. Master Wu uses the courtyard and surrounding area to reeducate the ninja on the fundamental traits of Spinjitzu. Despite Wu being outnumbered, he still soundly defeated all the ninja due to their lack of training over the past month with pure skill despite their usage of their powers.

The Monastery of Spinjitzu opens out for easy play and features: an opening gate; tower; tea room with 2 seats and a hidden lever-operated knife trap; rotating training station and a buildable bonsai tree; chicken trap function; and LEGO® NINJAGO® history mural wall stickers. It also holds its own when displayed alongside other LEGO architecture or city sets, fitting well with its unique aesthetic.With Ninjago in an era of peace, the ninja spent most of their time playing video games in the monastery's living room while Wu spent his time meditating in his quarters. When looking at the mural of Season 2: Legacy of the Green Ninja, Wu remarks how the Earth Driller was not very important, and should not have been included.
