About this deal

His Nostradamus Trilogy – thrillers based on the theme of Nostradamus's 58 missing prophecies – is an international bestseller, with rights sold in 38 countries. The quatrains, published in a book titled Les Prophéties (The Prophecies), received a mixed reaction when they were published. The reason is that all this proceeds from the divine power of Almighty God from whom all bounty proceeds.

His sources include passages from classical historians like Plutarch as well as medieval chroniclers from whom he seems to have borrowed liberally. The cost of knowing what is to come is, for Nostradamus, that history loses all direction and coherence. His prophecies have been in continuous print since his death on the 1st July 1566, an event that he accurately foretold on the night before it happened.Goebbels reportedly had that line inserted into leather bound original volumes of Nostradamus' work, volumes that were then seeded in libraries across Nazi-occupied Europe so that the line would seem credible. The greatest diviner and scryer who ever lived, Nostradamus was born in 1503 in Provence, France, and his prophecies have been continuously in print since his death on 2nd July 1566. He was highly sought after and was even invited to the court of Catherine de’ Medici, then the queen consort of King Henry II of France, to create horoscopes for her children. Roberts' The Complete Prophecies of Nostradamus of 1947, reprinted at least seven times during the next forty years, which contained both transcriptions and translations, with brief commentaries. Owing to the subjective nature of these interpretations, no two of them completely agree on what Nostradamus predicted, whether for the past or for the future.

Some people believe that his prophecies have predicted actual events, such as the death of Henry II, the French Revolution, the rise of Napoleon, the rise of Adolf Hitler, and the 9/11 attacks. Those guys didn’t have social media,” says Jones, “but what they were producing then would serve now as the fuel pellets on which social media runs. The first is when the supernatural light fills and illuminates the person who predicts by astral science, while the second allows him to prophesy through inspired revelation, which is only a part of the divine eternity, whereby the prophet comes to assess what his divinatory power has given him through the grace of God and by a natural gift, namely, that what is foretold is true and ethereal in origin.

His historical sources include easily identifiable passages from Livy, Suetonius' The Twelve Caesars, Plutarch and other classical historians, as well as from medieval chroniclers such as Geoffrey of Villehardouin and Jean Froissart. Astrology itself is mentioned only twice in Nostradamus's Preface and 41 times in the Centuries themselves, but more frequently in his dedicatory Letter to King Henry II. The point of the prophet is to provide this by showing us mugs what we have not noticed, be it a providential working-out of a larger, perhaps God-determined, purpose, the march of progress, or, as Steven Connor puts it, “a redemptive parabola rising from fall to forgiveness”. One was an extremely free translation (or rather a paraphrase) of The Protreptic of Galen ( Paraphrase de C.He fought alongside doctors against the plague before remarrying to Anne Ponsarde, with whom he had six children.

But after being surprised sometimes by day while in a trance, and having long fallen into the habit of agreeable nocturnal studies, I have composed books of prophecies, each containing one hundred astronomical quatrains, which I want to condense somewhat obscurely. There he married a woman of uncertain name (possibly Henriette d'Encausse), with whom he had two children. It is said that he would spend hours in his study at night meditating in front of a bowl filled with water and herbs. There are some reports that university officials discovered his previous experience as an apothecary and found this reason to expel him from school.
