About this deal

You can very well replace Series 9 Pro with Series 9 PRO+ in the comparison above as the latter shaves exactly the same. For my personal use I would definitely choose the 9290cc for the added convenience of the automatic cleaning base. day money back guarantee: If you don’t think for your Braun product has delivered superior results, get your money back within 100 days of purchase. The SyncroSonicTM shaver head has four specialised cutting elements, each performing a specific and different task to capture more hair than any other shaver, even on a 3-day beard. The older (and otherwise identical) 92s (silver) and 92b (black) cassettes are also compatible with the new Series 9 shavers.

Peak performance: to maintain your best shave, we recommend replacing the Series 9 Pro head every 18 months. On certain models (9290cc, 9295cc, 9296cc, 9291cc and the first generation 9095cc and 9090cc) the display will actually show a digit instead of the bars, but only for the last 9 minutes of remaining shaving time. Given how important (or at least how frequent) shaving is for most men, it’s great to have someone tracking these products and providing useful insight. The use of a pre-shave powder that contains talc and a few other chemicals can be problematic in the context of using an automatic cleaning station, particularly a Braun station that uses an alcohol solution and it’s more susceptible to clogging. Norelco lost my business when they switched to a much cheaper head (RQ12+ were garbage compared to the original RQ12). For more detailed information about the S9 Pro’s performance, make sure to check out my full review as well.

Apart from that, a matte gold finish and a more premium packaging, there’s absolutely no difference between the 9299s and any other wet/dry Series 9 in terms of shaving performance. Anyway that’s just my preference with regards to the Series 9, I think the station is worth the extra money. This allows us and our advertising providers to show adverts more relevant to you, limit how often you see an advert and build a profile of your interests. While we were all waiting eagerly for a Series 10, Braun decided to continue the strategy of incrementally improving the existing Series 9. Their update cycle is quite long — by update I mean the introduction of a vastly different product, not just an incremental improvement like the 90xx and 92xx models. The main improvement is with handling longer hairs (up to 7 vs 5 days of growth), which the older cassettes already did very well. Also of note they stated that the 7 series wet/dry (799cc, 797cc) are also NOT certified for use with creams and foams, but again the updated 7899cc IS certified.

My initial thought is go for cheaper option but without a cleaning station, the long term use of cleaning solution is a huge cost, and I am rather spend the money on a new shaving head. You can also check out my detailed review of the Series 9 9290cc (9291cc), arguably the best-selling Series 9 model from the second generation. I guess I lucked out: I bought a 9095cc as soon as they were available and was due to replace the head in July.

Does one sometimes have to change it earlier because the solution gets dirty enough that cleaning does not work well? The models ending in s, like the 9293s, won’t work with the stations included with the cc models, even though the shavers themselves are virtually identical.

It works surprisingly well, but I’d say it’s only worth getting if you have lots of coarse, flat-lying hairs. The pinnacle of their range, this flagship model features their most advanced electric shaving head and motor technology available, for the most efficient, most comfortable shave possible. I would think it is stainless steel, but I don’t understand why it would break and how titanium coating helps against it. The S9 PRO+ cleaning station has a silver beveled edge at the top and has an all-matte finish, but it is essentially the same one (Type 5430) that comes with the 93xx and 94xx Pro models. In my last three shaves I feel burns during shaving specially when going to shave the area between my nose and lips and my neck. In my opinion this is the main cause that can lead to a premature wear of the cutting parts with regards to wet shaving. Plus, enjoy 6-in-1 SmartCare and mobile charging for uninterrupted performance, all in a durable, German-made design. So the difference between the original and the 92 cassettes comes down to color and maybe reliability — the original cassettes have been known to fail suddenly. The latest 94 cassette that comes on the Pro models is now available in the USA as well, after initially only being available in Europe.
