Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl pronounced ‘stew-rahdur’ and means ‘helmsman’ in Scots Gaelic. Crafted by our Master Blender, it combines sherry casks of different ages and origins to showcase the coastal essence of Bunnahabhain, while retaining the beloved sherry influence found in our famous 12-year-old whisky. Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair, meaning Helmsman in Scots Gaelic, is the first Bunnahabhain release to pay homage to the Bunnahabhain Helmsman, who adorns every bottle. Bunnahabhain takes pride in its commitment to preserving the natural flavors of its whiskies, with a focus on using natural color and non-chill filtration.

The newest member of the Bunnahabhain core range family, this first batch release of a 30 year whisky is one of our oldest single malts. A 15-year-old Glenallachie single malt, matured in a combination of Pedro Ximenez and oloroso sherry casks, creating a smooth, rich character. It's a good dram (drinking it right now) - I think if you like Laphroaig, you should give this a go. It is intensely warming; with dried fruit, sherry, toffee and spices leading to a rich honeyed nuttiness and the slightest hint of sea salt. Unusually for an Islay single malt, Stiùireadair is unpeated, allowing the sweet coastal character of our island to shine through.

Rare 1989 Tawny Port Cask Finish specially hand selected by Julieann Fernandez, our Master Blender, for the distillery. Some mention that it' s almost liqueur like, and others say it' is soft and very much one to enjoy with. To create Stiùireadair, first and second fill sherry casks are selected with spirit of varying ages and warehouse locations to construct a dram that truly exposes the coastal nature of the Bunnahabhain single malt whisky, whilst not losing the sherry influence everyone knows and loves in the famous 12 year old.
