About this deal

Matt Draper, a comics-focused YouTuber who likes to analyse every bit of Daredevil lore as if it was Dostoevsky, has this video on the story. Probably the main knock on this comic is that it hearkens from a time where a significant proportion of all things relating to comic book superheros took place somewhere in New York City. Some stories have more "mature" themes compared to other superhero stories (such as drug abuse) so I would not recommend the book for young children or even early teens. Elementos clásicos llevados a otro nivel; así como el debut de nuevos personajes, que se convirtieron en indispensables en el pequeño universo de Daredevil. I also really enjoyed the lettering techniques, especially when used as background, communicating onomatopoeias in a way that doesn't distract from the foreground interactions.

Fue uno de sus primeros trabajos, que le acabaría consagrando como artista completo pues apenas dos años después se pondría también al cargo de los guiones. Your friendly neighborhood blind devil stopping petty criminals on the street of Hell's Kitchen with sarcasm even more than punches. Frank Miller used every issue he had on this run to tie into the last one he wrote and made everything connected. Stories that are intricately connected to the loose story threads that were made before Miller wrote on the book and he ties those ends up beautifully in the end.On top of that, you get great artwork with well-chosen perspective to match the dynamics of the action. Lee's run still loomed large over this, though once Miller got up to speed with his own natural style coming through, things picked up, and we were treated to some spectacular artwork, and some enthralling stories to boot. Miller's Daredevil run is one of the most lauded, most hyped runs of any character, at least in my experience anyway.

During those times, Daredevil was originally pinned with colorful characters (Stilt-Man for crying out loud), fighting different ones every day, and battling it out in court battles. Action in particular is wonderfully fluid and dynamic, rivaling work by Tezuka in it's use of cinematic composition and movement. Frank Miller's spellbinding scripts and pulse-pounding pencils herald one of Daredevil's greatest eras, just in time for the Kingpin and Bullseye's efforts to rob the Man Without Fear of everything he holds dear.Sure, there were a few duds here and there, and more than a few missed opportunities that had me rewriting the great Frank Miller in my head, as sacrilegious as it sounds. Las tintas de Klaus Janson le vienen al dedillo al dibujo de Miller, quien por entonces no había revertido al estilo feísta que empezó a tener a partir de 300 y que ha empeorado considerablemente con el paso de los años. While the first few stories here showcase a more fun side of Daredevil and some cool moments with the hulk, they feel very typical superheroish. Frank Miller’s art during this time is very good but nothing sticks out as memorable until Miller takes the writing reins. Frank Miller's run on daredevil is one of those legendary runs that you hear about as a comic book fan.
