About this deal

You would be forgiven for thinking that removing the mudguards (fenders) from a Brompton would be quite a simple, straight-forward affair. There’s probably some law about someone my size forcing themselves in a triathlon one piece suit anyway and the attendant risk of being harpooned by a passing Icelandic trawler if swimming in open water, but I do look forward to hearing about those who branch out into two and three discipline events as part of the ‘Blue and White Tri Dynamite’. But there are other situations where it just isn’t appropriate, or convenient, despite arguments to the contrary put forward by the always-carry-your-Brompton school. Fortunately the book was not damaged but in my opinion the envelope used wasn't fit for purpose and appeared to be the cheapest one they could get away with using. I was saddened when Tina Dickinson left our club to join Leeds and Bradford Tri, having decided that after years of battling injuries from running, competing in triathlons was the way forward.

I have had a couple of bikes since, but they’ve been cheap standard issue boneshakers and I never ‘got on’ with them or liked riding them. It comprises two main sections or pads; a smaller one which wraps around the part of the main frame tube near to the seat post, and a larger one that wraps around the larger part of the frame tube. I'd also hazard a guess that the headset bearings on the tall head tube bikes last somewhat longer than those of the short tubed models. So you then have to loosen the brake cable so you can pull the brake away from the wheel and the frame without it snagging. It didn’t end well and part of Knott Lane still lives beneath the scar on my right elbow (which I inadvertently pressed into service as a brake). I have in fact heard a number of suggestions such as measuring the seat height against a part of your body (your navel for example); attaching a piece of cord of the correct length to both the frame and the saddle so that when the saddle is at the right height, it is taught; or, marking the seat with a pencil or an indelible marker pen.

Also there must be some sort of ‘Murphy’s Law’ about punctures which means you usually get one at the furthest point from help, in the dark or in appalling weather or all at once. Number Two: Decathlon Riverside 3 "womans" frame with GSM mid-motor, external KT 15+ A S06SC torque simulation sine wave controller - http://www. And so, by popular request – OK, so I’ve had one request – I’m going to get things moving again with an update of what I’ve been up to over the last few months. And the next thing you know, you’re tutting at people who get in your way, the ones who are trying to keep a steady pace, muttering “bloody tourists” under your breath.Normally, the cable is protected by the mudguard, so once this has been removed, you need to find some other way of protecting the cable. I know of some people who use the two-sided pedals as they stick out less and are generally less obtrusive, but the trouble here is you always have to wear your cycling shoes, whereas with the one-sided SPDs, at least you have the option of wearing normal trainers if you wish. Whilst there have been a number of recent initiatives to improve cycling in cities and increase the number of journeys, I have to say that riding a bike through central London during the main rush (which seems to last for several hours at either end of the day) is not for the faint-hearted.
