Overall: A beautiful Japanese blend that drinks like a lightly peated Highland Scotch with more body. Overall, however, remains a great whiskey, but unfortunately now - due to the discontinuation of bottling and the general trend among the Japanese - has become disproportionately expensive. Inspired by the beauty of Japan's nature, "Kacho Fugetsu" roughly translates to "flower, bird, breeze and lunar. Such a fragrant nose, it was also my first Japanese plum experience and will remember this dram fondly. Balance: Not as "harmonious" (as the translation of Hibiki implies), I find that although certain elements in this whisky work well, they do not combine in such a way as to elevate the overall experience, such as a very good whisky can do. Fans were were shocked this year when Suntory announced that they would be discontinuing the highly acclaimed bottle. g."soapy" is most definitely not the product of oxidation, but a defect in production and quality control.
