About this deal

Expert hypnobirthing teacher and founder of The Positive Birth Company Siobhan Miller has made it her mission to change the way women around the world approach and experience birth. No matter where you sit on the 'anxious-to-excited' spectrum at the moment, by the time you finish this book you'll feel relaxed, capable and genuinely excited about giving birth, because it's truly the most awesome thing you'll ever get to do in your life. Ladies trust that your body is designed for birthing and move away from the medicalised birth scenes we see on tv. I decided to give this book a go as I had a credit to use and am expecting my little one this summer. For more details, please consult the latest information provided by Royal Mail's International Incident Bulletin.

I'm all for positive birth stories, and empowering women to believe that they can have a positive birth experience. I also really enjoyed the participation of your birth partner, so I am eager for him to read this so we can both stay informed and have a calm and informed birth together. And finally, to have a birth plan - not something to which you need to stick slavishly, but some kind of framework that can guide the experience when it's underway. In this book, Siobhan debunks common myths about hypnobirthing and explains why she believes it can make every type of birth a better experience—from a water birth at home to an unplanned caesarean in theatre. Sto per diventare papà (per la prima volta) e su consiglio di mia moglie mi sono letto Hypnobirthing. In the second chapter, Siobhan Miller begins to share the toolkit that includes: two breathing techniques, visualizations, light-touch massage, guided relaxations, positive affirmations, and the art of creating shortcuts to achieve relaxation.

Im a first time mom and after beginning to read this book it gave me such a much more slight ease of mind. Throughout my pregnancy, I've been trying to read several books that will prepare me for what's to come. They know the evidence better than we do and are recommending things with a patient centered, evidence based approach. Me and my husband are FTP and really enjoyed this book, a lot of it was like oh yeah that makes since or that’s common sense but so worth hearing and actually getting facts and ways to handle situations.

I like the breathing techniques and visualizations best so far and want to try doing them to help me relax through the different stages of labor. It is somewhat anti medical (again, unrealistic for the majority of births) medical intervention and pain killers are demonised a little which might make first timers feel inadequate if their birth doesn’t end up looking like the ideals put forward in this book.

A positive birth, which is something we all strive for, is a birth experience that leaves a woman feeling empowered rather than traumatised, where the mother's wishes are respected, she is listened to and feels calm, confident, and informed. There were a couple of sections that detailed the science behind contractions and labour that I found useful. Expert hypnobirthing coach Siobhan Miller has made it her mission to show women everywhere that birth can be better.
