About this deal

No wonder the Chinese dragon, guardian of Issi’s magic powers, decides to pay him a visit to see how wisely he’s using his special gift. Or else he uses his magic cards to provide amusement for himself – a room full of musical instruments, and even a knight on horseback to teach him to play chess. A subtle guitar melody adds a touch of organic allure to the mix, gradually building and developing into a groove that is both engaging and subtly electronic. Issi Noho is the eponymous main character in a series of books and children's television programmes created, written and narrated by author Keith Chatfield. He didn’t mean to empty the local pond or get trapped inside a pillar box or flood the Martin’s garden.

Well, I had covered the top of my home with branches and leaves which covered up some of the letters. Adopted by a group of adventurous youngsters, Issi Noho solved their weekly problems with his collection of magic numbered squares. When Sally and Andrew found me, they could only see the middle letters, ISSI NOHO, and they thought that was my name! As he sits chewing his licorice shoelace, Issi plans all kinds of time-saving devices for other people, like getting a Roman soldier to help Mr Martin build a garden wall.Sally and Andrew combine with Issi to think up a solution to this potentially devastating problem and try to make Issi his cheerful self once again.

The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. It was simply a series of still pictures narrated by a male actor, about a magical panda who had been discovered on some waste ground by a group of children. I appeared on Thames Television, first between 1974 and 1975 but then repeated through into the 80s. He now has to fill in two numbers to complete each magic square and we all know the problems he had with only one!

May have some underlining and highlighting of text and some writing in the margins, but there are no missing pages or anything else that would compromise the readability or legibility of the text. Nick Smith and Neil Riley have been producing their unique brand of “psychedelic beats” under the name Issi Noho since the mid-90s. Their music can be described as a fusion of hard-edged evolving rhythms, ambient melodies, and twisted, cinematic soundscapes.

These were the words on the packing case in which he was discovered by the children, Sally and Andrew.

Nostalgia Central covers the period 1950 to 1999 and contains some words and references which reflect the attitudes of those times and which may be considered culturally sensitive, offensive or inappropriate today.

Standon and produced by Thames Television, Issi Noho was a series of stories about the titular panda. Keith wrote lots of books about my adventures and dozens of TV programmes which he narrated for THAMES TELEVISION. Adventures into outer space, a touch of his own brand of magic in the Christmas pantomime and diving for hidden treasures under the sea! They are at least reading copies, complete and in reasonable condition but usually secondhand; frequently they are superior examples. I didn't believe they would, but he persevered and took my scripts to both the BBC and Thames Television.
