About this deal

The reason for the high praise for what is essentially a dated and simplistic comic strip - simple - my past. However, this being Dredd’s world, and Ennis’s take on Dredd being that he’s the hardest bastard that ever lived, the mutant bounty hunter plays second fiddle to the Mega-City One lawman. The notion that widespread wealth spells disaster is a bit silly, though (unless you happen to be a member of the Tea Party), and the fictional world of Judge Dredd generally feels rather half-baked at this early stage. Barr, Alan Grant, John Wagner, Dennis O'Neil, Sam Hamm, Mark Waid, Brian Augustyn, Archie Goodwin, Chuck Dixon, Scott Snyder, David Lapham, Paul Dini, Doug Moench, James Tynion, Greg Rucka, Bill Willingham, Devin Grayson, Ed Brubaker, Steve Englehart, Bob Rozakis, Gerry Conway, Paul Levitz, Paul Kupperberg, J.

Vaughan, Geoff Johns, Jeph Loeb, Andy Kubert, Jack Schiff, Scott Peterson, Scott Beatty, Bill Willingham, Antony Bedard, Tom Taylor, A. Written by John Wagner ( A History of Violence) and drawn by a host of acclaimed artists including Kev Walker ( The Eternals), Cam Kennedy ( Star Wars), and Carlos Ezquerra ( Preacher), this is Judge Dredd at his pulse-pounding best! Involved from the earliest days of the Galaxy's Greatest Comic, he co-created Judge Dredd, as well as a whole cast of other memorable characters. Torres, Marguerite Bennett, Scott Snyder, Jason Aaron, Robert Kanigher, Marc Andreyko, John Francis Moore, Peter J. The tenth book in the bestselling series collects together some of the very best in Thrill-power, including such stories as ‘The Art of Kenny Who?

Volume 15 features stories published in the very first issues of 2000 AD’s monthly sister publication, The Judge Dredd Megazine. Alongside Pat Mills, Wagner was responsible for revitalising British boys' comics in the 1970s, and has continued to be a leading light in British comics ever since. For instance, the characters live in "The Mega City" (rather than Mega-City One) and it says that judges are elected (rather than being trained since they were children).

Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, Various, Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway, Len Wein, Archie Goodwin, Bill Mantlo, Marv Wolfman, Jim Starlin, Dennis O'Neil, David Michelinie, Roger Stern, Jim Shooter, Mark Gruenwald, Michael Fleisher, Mike W. We will never knowingly harvest your data beyond the cookies needed for smooth running of the site, and wouldn't dream of passing it anywhere. We also get an introduction to evolved monkeys and mutants which give us a taster of this world and the satire which makes it so diesel.Judge Dredd, Mega-City One’s toughest law enforcer, is back on the streets in this collection of explosive cases. Volume 16 features even more thrills from comics legend Garth Ennis (Preacher, The Boys) and introduces Charlie Adlard’s (The Walking Dead) earliest work for the Judge Dredd Megazine, as well as art from Sam Kieth (The Maxx, The Sandman) and Glenn Fabry (Preacher) amongst others. Judge Dredd – the future lawman with the powers of judge, jury and executioner at his disposal – faces some of his most challenging cases yet in this fourth volume of his earliest adventures.

The robot rebellion was interesting but clearly not resolved properly so it’s bound to come up again. This is the first of the Judge Dredd case files and an interesting look at how Joe Dredd and Megacity One was conceived and developed in the beginning. I can see the logic, since the story is initially set in the year 2099, but it doesn't really make sense; from the characters' point of view, they live in the present! Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. To ensure peace and uphold the law of Mega-City One, the justice department uses judges: An officer of the law who acts as police, judge, jury and executioner if necessary. I would not recommend a newcomer start here; you probably wouldn't "get" what the big deal is, a lot has changed.

The second volume features the very first Dredd epic The Cursed Earth , written by comic legends Pat Mills ( Slaine ) and John Wagner ( A History of Violence ) and featuring the art of Mike McMahon ( ABC Warriors ) and Brian Bolland ( Batman: The Killing Joke ). Maggin, Tony Isabella, Tom DeFalco, Marv Wolfman, Roger Stern, Steve Leialoha, Marie Severin, Al Milgrom, Ralph Macchio, Peter David, Sal Buscema, Jim Mooney, Frank Miller, Mike Zeck, John Byrne, Rich Buckler, Ed Hannigan, Ron Frenz, Kerry Gammill, Tony Salmons, Rick Leonardi, Elliot S! Another bumper crop of cases for Dredd in this action-packed volume, collecting together some of the very best in 2000 AD thrills! So, this is a bit like the old SF stories where people would get into their space-car and eat space-biscuits for their space-lunch.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone but those who are trying to intentionally study and know the comic medium, and the history of comics, as I am right now.
