It is effective as an anti biting insect spray but unfortunately the spray mist bets everywhere and it is difficult to avoid inhaling some. Reapply as necessary, depending on conditions as high temperature, humidity and other environmental factors can reduce the duration of protection of all insect repellents. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Most relevant species for tropical destinations such as the Aedes and Anopheles mosquitoes which can carry Yellow Fever, Zika, Malaria, Dengue and Chikungunya. While DEET is usually the recommended option for use in countries with a risk of malaria and other insect transmitted diseases, IR3535 is very effective for repelling most species of mosquitoes, ticks and other flying insects here in the UK and in Europe. Jungle Formula Plug-in is ideal left in the room while you’re out, giving you a bug free room, ready for a restful night sleep. For some (tropical) mosquito species the protection time can be much shorter: on average 4 hours of protection against the yellow fever mosquito (Aedes aegypti) and 8 hours against the malaria mosquito (Anopheles stephensi).
