The Low End Theory is regarded as one of the most influential albums in hip-hop history, with Corbin Reiff of Complex declaring that it "broke major ground and pushed the sonic envelope of the entire rap genre. Records that aren't in picture sleeves will either be in a company sleeve or a generic plain sleeve. I have them both on CD and am not interested in making a straight-up nostalgia purchase if it turns out these records sound like complete crap. Recording sessions for the album were held mostly at Battery Studios in New York City, from 1990 to 1991. to further blur the line between jazz and hip-hop in an even more organic way than in the early '90s.
