What may be underreported in other reviews of this book, is the tendency of the fairer species to make terrible decisions where matters of the heart are concerned. That should not have been comfortable for her and anyone in her shoes would have done the right thing by reporting it to the school authorities. In Kenya, we have street slang saying in Swahili, "soko ni chafu", loosely translated as "the market is dirty". The last page in the book felt like the author was patronizing ‘Nearly All the Men in Lagos Are Mad’. As usual with short stories, I’m often left dissatisfied as I feel some stories could be explored more but I understood the stories for what they were and tried to enjoy them as such.It takes two to tango and since there was a third party in the marriage, Lisa should have been pregnant if he was so ‘fertile.
