About this deal

This warranty extends only to personal use & does not extend to any product that has been used for commercial use, rental use, or use that is not intended. There are no warranties other than expressly set forth herein. SMSL C200 has a variety of supported digital inputs including USB, Coaxial, Optical, and Bluetooth. With the help of the latest-generation Bluetooth chipset, the C200 provides a smooth, lag-free Bluetooth input that users can use to feed signal directly through their smartphones. Built-In Low Noise Power Supply:- The series was inaugurated with the DO200 DAC, the HO200 headphone amplifier and the AO200 integrated speaker amplifier. The presence and delivery are there for electric guitars. Just don’t expect too much on the subtleties since the C100 can blunt the edges a bit. This, however, suits instruments like the violin, observing that the depth of each note is being given a nice balance of body and zing to not sound too dry. Staging & Dynamics

The SMSL C200 has RCA pre-outs along with TRS balanced outputs instead of the bigger brother DO/HO sporting XLR balanced outs. The headphone output is a 6.35mm single ended and the 4.4mm is the balanced connector, however it doesn’t provide an actual increase in channel separation or more power output, it is for accommodation. It has good timing and it is not lean sounding but not too full bodied either, it mostly comes to headphone matching but don't expect it to fill a lean sounding headphone or surprise you with thundering impact. Straight off the bat, this DAC sounds fantastic! I am now hearing micro details, subtle key changes and nuances in my favourite music that I was not hearing before, and this is with standard 16 bit/44.1 kHz CD quality files, and AAC Apple Music files through the Bluetooth connection. Bass sounds deep, punchy and accurate, nice warm mid bass and mid range, with detailed sparkling highs, that are non fatiguing. Overall sound is very engaging and enjoyable to listen to. I spent two hours the other night just sitting there listening to my favourite tunes, and kept telling myself just one more song, just one more song! This DAC has really brought my digital music listening experience to life! I dare say this is a mass improvement change to my system, and for an excellent budget price! First of all, we see a changed and improved front panel. Compared to K5Pro, the input lever has been removed and replaced by a low-profile button. There are 2 switch levers right next to the input button. One is responsible for controlling the gain and one for changing the active output. There are 4 white LEDs above this area and these LEDs light according to the active input. Although FiiO seems to have left the design of the volume wheel in the center untouched, the frame that surrounds the wheel and allows the LEDs to light up more softly, has changed. RGB LEDs are now used here and they emit a softer light compared to K5Pro. Which looks and glows much better, especially in a dimly lit room. On the right side of the panel are the PO and BAL headphone outputs, one on top of the other.

Product details

The FiiO K5 Pro ESS is another all-in-one solution featuring the ES9038Q2M DAC chip with an admittedly excellent sound performance. Disclaimer: FiiO sent us the FiiO K7 for this review. As always, I am here to convey my honest experience with the product. FiiO The sound is transparent, crystal clear and neutral with an absolutely flat frequency response and great fidelity. I got the SMSL C200 DAC just the other day. I found it very easy to set up and get operating. To spite the fact that it has a very primitive display, I still had no issue navigating the inputs and options, without reading the instruction manual, and I have never had a seperate outboard DAC before.

Reading the numbers of the C100 may not be the best out there but they’re surely not lagging too far behind even compared to some slightly more expensive DACs. Customers are to bear the consequences and fees incurred, if the parcel was undelivered due to any of the following situation: SMSL C200 vs Aune X1s GT (219 USD vs 349 USD) – I need to forgive you if you’re thinking that X1S GT is better just because it costs more, but at the same time, it does have a better outer design, and has better frontal layout for the headphone outputs. While there is no remote for the X1s GT, it does have a versatile selection of inputs and outputs too, having a Bluetooth input as well. The driving power is higher on the C200, quite a bit higher, but the X1s GT has a slightly warmer, more full and deeper sound, while the C200 sounds more neutral. X1s GT also has better extension in the treble, but when you also take into account the price of both, you’re more likely to go for C200 if budget is a constraint. Presenting the all-new SMSL C200, a high-performance desktop all-in-one DAC/AMP that comes equipped with a premium ES9038Q2M Sabre DAC chip. SMSL C200 produces powerful amplification with the help of professionally designed AMP circuitry. SMSL has equipped it with multiple inputs including USB, Bluetooth, Coaxial, and Optical too. It has a Headphone output with dual output ports(4.4mm balanced and 6.35mm single-ended0, and also provides line-out via RCA and TRS ports. Upgrade your desktop chain with the SMSL C200 and experience your favorite music with amazing clarity and dynamics!! As for power, the K7 uses two THX 788+ amplifier modules, which we have seen in the FiiO’s higher-end K9 Pro ESS DAC & AMP. Some of you may have noticed that these modules deliver less power on the K7, which FiiO explains is due to the power consumed and heat generated by the modules. As a K9 Pro ESS user, I think this optimization was a good decision. During operation, the K7 is warm to the touch but not uncomfortably hot. The K7 can dish out 1.2 watts of power to a 32-ohm load via its SE output and it can dish out 2 watts of power via the balanced HPO. 560mW of power into a 300-ohm load means that it has plenty of power to drive nearly every single planar or dynamic headphone on the market. The SMSL C200 has a reference type approach to the sound reproduction which feels quite detached but on the other hand it shouldn’t be considered as clinical sounding or boring.

SMSL C200 features a built-in discrete component linear power supply. There is no external AC adapter and provides clean power to the Digital and Analog circuits. Use It As A Dedicated DAC:-

The headphone output is rather strong, with up to 2.6W per channel at 16 OHMs, and 1.3W per channel at 32 OHMs, enough to drive most headphones, including Audeze LCD-XC and Avantone Pro Planar. There’s even a remote for you to have comfortable control over C200, useful especially if it will be used as a desktop DAC/AMP. If we were keeping score the Aoshida Audio SMSL C200 would loose a half a point in instrument separation in comparison to the DO/HO100 combo, but by itself I do not notice it. I am glad there is a difference between the two options, otherwise SMSL might cut into the sales of the DO100/HO100. I would wager that it is essentially the SU-6/SH-6 instead with improved measurements. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. To return faulty items see our Returning Faulty Items policy. I tested the C100 primarily as a DAC/preamp in a secondary system consisting of a Sony ES5400 CD transport and a Parasound amp, or as just a DAC with a Schiit SYS passive pre—I heard no difference when the Schiit was in the chain, which is, I suppose, a credit to the Schiit. On the other side of the business, the pair of RCA outputs SMSL installed to the C100 are gold-plated and high quality. It will push out 2Vrms and a dynamic range of 121dB.
