About this deal

Created in 1966, it is a little more old fashioned, but it’s a scent you can’t go wrong with. Like scotch, it’s traditional yet remains modern and contemporary. Who can wear it: if you 'like' the new reformulation of what was once 'Aramis' because it "now works well in the high heat of summer", then you're reaching for the wrong frag when the mercury climbs. I have to admit that in the beginning when I sprayed it on a piece of paper on a relatively hot day in the beginning of May it turned my stomach and made me feel nauseous from the pure sharp power of the fragrance. At that time I thought I was finished and that I made a horrible blind-buy mistake. Then when I realised I couldn’t return it I wanted to sell it. But before I could sell it I gave it one more try at home on skin and the fragrance became much more manageable, likeable even. So I tried it one more time and then it completely won me over and I decided to keep it! I know I’m middle-aged, but there is too much leather in this for me. Of course, the sillage is monstrous and the longevity is legendary. Aramis starts off as a peppery fragrance that is citrusy with quite a bit of green. However, while I clearly got the artemisia, I could not smell the gardenia at all and I never would have guessed that there is myrrh included as well…

While we’re not usually fans of traditional musky scents, Aramis offers a great line for those who are in love with classics. We lean more toward nature-esque and long-lasting yet not overpowering colognes, something to suit my needs for smelling my best at the office or any event.

A shadow of its former past. Aramis in its glory time are the iconic barbershop fougere style fragrance that are famous for its pungent, bright, aromatic scent that has brash and braggy nature. I can confirm, in good faith, that until around 2018 Aramis was all the wonders people talk about, and more. However, if you are considering acquiring a batch from 2019 onwards, please don't. This classic masterpiece has been assassinated. Adventurer is especially for the dads who like to take their families out sailing every weekend. With notes like seaweed and driftwood, it gives a more sporty scent and delivers a salty ocean vibe. This definitely evokes a bygone era of some sort. Whether that's good or bad depends on your nostalgia.

Aramis" is liquid masculinity. It is a relaxing bubble bath in the warm urine of Arnold Schwarzenegger after a six-hour workout at Gold's Gym. It is a bitch slap in the nutbag from a platoon of Navy SEALs. It is Tim Allen grunting "arrr arrr arrr!" on a continuous loop until the end of time. As far as the scent goes, what I do get from Aramis is an image of an old fashioned gentleman's lounge with expensive Chinese or Persian carpets, wooden wall panels, massive book shelves of old expensive wood, paintings of kings, royalties, heads of governments and states, fragrant old leather couches that give off a strong and deep luxurious leather scent that fills the air with an intoxicating feeling of excess and hedonistic luxury, and an open fireplace with burnt firewood, and a large chest of drawers with expensive alcoholic beverages gracing the top of it. Aramis" is the most manly substance on earth. Remember how Tim Allen used to grunt "arrr arrr arrr"? Well, multiply that by 100 and you've got "Aramis." In those days, I knew nothing of olfactive families, and it's only now that I see: HAVANA is a fougère. A spicy fougère, but a fougère nonetheless.Aramis to young guys in the US is what Eau Sauvage is to young guys in France and Germany; a cologne that starts you off in the world of scent. Mothers love this smell on their boys... grown up, manly, but not pretentious or obnoxious. It states itself confidently and brings smiles to those around you. The opening notes are grassy green and fresh, spiced with cinnamon. The heart is woody with pelargonium, which possesses an intensive floral-spicy aromatic scent. The perfume ends with a massive leather note. I wear fragrances for myself because a great scent elevates my mood and state of mind. But, don’t be fooled by the people saying ladies don’t love Aramis. Any woman 25-30+ will understand and love this scent. The majority of younger individuals won’t like Aramis because they won’t understand it. It takes a mature nose to recognize the greatness here, but once you get it… you LOVE it. There is something very evocative about the scent. My opinion: Don't miss the chance of trying, owning and using this true landmark perfume. On top of it, it is not expensive.

Constantly shifting from soap, cinnamon, carnation, mandarin, tobacco, pine and sandalwood to a subtly fecal sun-warmed hay. My Aramis. What have they done to you? You are a castrated version of yourself from the 90’s. Still love your scent, but your longevity has seriously decreased - 4 hours max on me. Well, everybody can say what they like and how it's not liked by woman and it smells like urine (really??) but I recently said, screw it, and began wearing it...it was part of my overall attitude of enjoying what i wanted to enjoy and not worry about what others thought (winters in Canada will do that to you) Well, I (in the most respectful way possible) do not agree with people who say it's ruined and not worth buying anymore. the good thing about this reformulated one is that the adhesive synthetic notes have been toned down and it's just much more mellowed down and you can wear it with much more confidence without gassing the whole room! The lovely Aramis we love and care for is still there. So what is the problem?

Sillage and projection are quite impressive for the first 1-3 hours - depending on skin, weather conditions and the amounts of sprays you have applied to your skin, and longevity reaches easily 12 hours. The dry-down can be a bit abrasive, leaving you with scents of dry herbs, but it is a fresh and fruity aquatic fragrance. I’m not sure how they can capture the marine in the bottle, but this epitomizes the era and reminds me of holidays and vacations on the beach. Who can wear it:
