About this deal

Next, it makes sense to read the major lines of the Piquet: The four rows of 8 cards, and the eight columns. In the Piquet, some columns are made up of 4 cards and others of 5. Some authors might omit the fifth cards of the middle four columns if they like to isolate the bottom line - I personally don’t. Different readers read the GT differently and use different methods. Also, you don’t HAVE to employ every single one of the methods. If you are reading for yourself, you can choose which methods and elements suit your needs best: you can just read around the Querent card, for instance, you can just do an overview of the reading as a whole, or you can do in-depth with Houses, Knighting and so on. 3. Timing. A Grand Tableau is NOT necessarily a predictive reading Keycards are usually only for smaller spreads like the 5 or 9 card, just to focus the reading on a specific life area (although sometimes it is better not to use them, as per the keycard post.) In a Grand Tableau, as it uses ALL the cards, the keycards are already there for life areas such as home, love etc. You just find the right one in the spread to read about it, as per the How To Read the Grand Tableau instructions.

Because Lenormand’s cards make sense through combinations, contradictions don’t really happen within a single line. Instead, we build up meaning just like we do with the lines of 3-, 5-, and 7-cards. For the sake of illustration, our examples are going to be using 5-card Lenormand Spreads. Method 1: Reading A Sentence with the 5-Card or 7-Card Lenormand Spread Once you establish that the Lady (card #29) is the 3rd card from the left in the first row, you can then say that she mirrors the 3rd card from the right in the same row, the Heart (card #24):Here, instead of one continuous sentence, we now get a series of short ones, each giving us further insight into the matter at hand. We are starting to get a picture here of a love whose sudden passions were kindled from loneliness, and may end mysteriously. Mirroring Lenormand Pairs

So take the time to practice the portrait along with your long lines, and soon enough, you’ll no longer feel intimidated by the Grand Tableau. Most aspiring Lenormand Readers find the Tableau challenging, and to be fair, it is. BUT, it is not insurmountable. Plus, when you grow your practice the right way, you’ll find that the Tableau is an approachable next step - if not an easy one. Admittedly, the sheer number of sentences and structures that we can interpret in a Tableau is by itself daunting. The number of cards that knight the significator will depend on the placement of the significator in the spread. Notice the general tone by counting how many positive and negative cards are present in the spread. If any card stands out to you or confuses you, knight it with another card or cards to learn more about hidden influences. So whether you’re doing a GT yourself following my instructions or you are getting a reading from me, what are the 10 most important things to know? 1. The Grand Tableau is a general reading that covers ALL life areas. OBSERVATION: Interestingly, the Gentleman (card #28) also mirrors the Dog and the Heart..!! What kind of interesting information did this just find out? We’ll discuss it in more detail in Petit Lenormand Love Relationships – Part 3 (to come!) A knight piece can move from its current position, jumping over pieces, and landing slightly off its original trajectory. They always move two spaces (left, right, up or down) and shift one more space!
