Contrary to its name, Orange Pekoe (pronounced “peck-o”) is not a flavor, color or even a type of tea, as one might assume.

One of the ways in which we are fulfilling these responsibilities is through our collaboration with the Rainforest Alliance. However, as a result of the manufacturing process, Tetley tea bags do contain a very small amount of plastic to ensure the bags remain closed for you to enjoy your cup of tea. Our Green and White tea blends contain tea sourced from China, and we have an extensive testing and tasting regime to ensure they meet our very high quality and safety standards.

At the start of 2010, Tetley announced its commitment to purchase all of the tea for its branded tea bag and loose tea products from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. Green and Black Tea are both derived from the same plant (Camellia Sinensis) and their leaves contain similar amounts of caffeine.
