The Heart of a King definitely delivered and I enjoyed almost every moment of it. I will definitely be looking for more books from Jill Eileen Smith in the future.

When what is right and fair is done, it is a joy for those who are right with God. But it fills the sinful with fear. The intense buildup was only matched by the battles. Can’t wait for the next book and especially for Jael - glorious warrior - to step into the drama of Alekka.’ The way the sinful hurt others will draw them away, because they will not do what is right and fair.

The Heart of a King is a compilation of short stories about four of the wives of King Solomon. I was apprehensive from the start as this book seemed to fit into my preconceived notions of what I would be reading. A wise man goes over the city walls of the powerful, and brings down the strong-place in which they trust. I can't wait to see what Jill Eileen Smith writes next. I do know that it will be excellent. I highly recommend this one.
