About this deal

All of the characters are struggling not just with overcoming their limits in the sport, but also in their actual lives. While most other sports manga focus on high schoolers hittingregionals/nationals in high school world, these players are aiming to become world league players - so for many of them, it's do or (figuratively) die, making it so much more impactful. They'remore than just kids who are pumped to play soccer. They have complete personalities and reasons for their behaviors. Most importantly, there's a notable change and growth in most of our primary and secondary characters, and unlike other sports shounen, this one actually also manages to work in some romance as well. Chapter 278: Those Boots - Ao Ashi - MangaKatana Chapter 278: Those Boots - Ao Ashi - MangaKatana

You see, the world of sports manga/anime has become a bit typical - most of them follow a pretty similar formula. Overly optimistic main character who doesn't have a single mean thought in their heads, usually kind of stupid, but has a love for their sport and some kind of hidden genius. They join a team of other quirky characters all with their own hidden strengths and aim together for nationals or whatever. *yawn* it's so typical now it's boring. in Japanese). Shogakukan. Hibiki: Shōsetsuka ni Naru Hōhō by Mitsuharu Yanamoto and Kenkō de Bunkateki na Saitei Gendo no Seikatsu by Haruko Kashiwagi (2018) The author thought the characters and the story were great so he focused a part wich could have been used to develop the 100 useless characters he introduced to romance and even worse he made it a love triangle. Aoi in the 1st romance is your typical middle school romance in wich aoi messes up all of the time because he doesnt use his brain before talking, Aoi in the second romance is goku but 1000 times worse. The goku x chichi romance was a masterpiece compared to all romances in this manga.
