If my redemption resides somewhere within you, then I will spend the rest of my life searching for it inside of you.” This book broke me and put my jagged pieces to fit with Addie and Zade, and I was okay with that. Addie's experience is painful. I liked that HD didn't shy away from that and put it to paper. Usually, the hero saves the heroine before the trauma occurs or the trauma is light in comparison to what Addie experienced. A small part of me hoped she would follow that plot line but then I realized this book mirrors reality and the hero doesn't always show up or arrive in time. I cried for Addie. I lived her pain in my own life and then I lived it again through her story, but I was okay with that pain. There was no mercy for Addie. She tore her moral compass to pieces, broke her own heart, took a life, and contemplated the end. HD gave her a real experience with real thoughts and reactions. I have never had an author write such an authentic character with real-world experiences and reactions

Their reunion had me sobbing, the amount of angst in this book had me sweating. The soft moments had me melting in a puddle. Love it when a dangerous criminal gets on his knees for his woman.

HA2 is not creepy stalker romance where you are questioning your morals but still rooting for Zade. This is Adeline's survival journey and coping with the trauma from all the suffering she had been through. It's dark, cruel, unapologetic, raw and very hard to read. I am a woman without triggers and this book still DESTROYED me. You're gonna feel everything that happens to Addie and it will make you cry. You will be sad and frustrated from seeing how helpless Zade is in his mission to find her. You're gonna be on rollercoster of emotions. Heartbreak, anger, sadness, sorrow and love. You're gonna feel it all and maybe even more. Haunting Adeline’s spice rating is 5/5 stars, as it has numerous open door romance scenes. Haunting Adeline Spicy Chapters List Zade helps her take ownership of her trauma from her time with Xavier. One of my favorite scenes, which he does only with her consent (such a change from book 1), is when he uses a knife over the scars Xavier left giving her a new experience and new emotions to tie to them. He helps her heal through s*xual, physical, and emotional needs. He molds himself into whom she needs and what she needs and my heart beats for him more because of it. He helps build her up and heal her into the new version of Adeline. The version that matches all of his jagged pieces.

His techniques might be interesting to say the least, but whether he’s wooing her or protecting her or helping her heal, my heart was just a useless melty puddle with every single thing Zade does for Addie. I was pretty satisfied near the ending of book one - Z got the girl, she accepted him into her life, she solved the mystery of who murdered her grandmother, it was all wrapped up in a neat little bow.Yes, Haunting Adeline is spicy.
