About this deal

With deep dark secrets and twisted webs of lies, Dirty Laundry is everything I want in a book - Desperate Housewives in a small-town setting, each turn in the story even better than the last' Andrea Mara, All Her Fault I've been following their social media for ages and always found it so funny and heart warming! So just bought the book to see if it is the same 😂 It is. I am so glad I had the opportunity to read this book! This author is highly talented and I cannot wait to read more of her books in the future! If I'd have one criticism (and I do) is that the book (and the social media) are from the perspective of helping the ND partner function in society and how much the NT partner is doing, how aware they are, how patient, loving and understanding. And although that is cool to see, would have loved to see more vulnerability on Rich's side and maybe more ways in which being in this relationship improved HIS life and what Rox is teaching him. The way is depicted now comes across as a bit unilateral. There is ONE chapter in the book where Rich says being with Rox taught him to sometimes enjoy spending money and indulge in little things. Real Housewives fans will devour this debut that simmers with discontent and deceit’ Liz Alterman, author of The Perfect Neighborhood

Stop believing you are fundamentally broken, - Stop judging yourself by the standards of a neurotypical world, - Communicate your struggles to those who love you, - Support someone with ADHD in ways that work for them, - Be compassionate rather than judgemental, - And much more. This was entertaining, an easy read. It doesn’t really cover any new ground but I truly wanted to see how it would play out. I thought the ending worked well. From the husband-and-wife team behind social media phenomenon @ADHD_Love, whose viral videos have been viewed more than 200 million times, comes a fearless, often outrageously funny, account of life, learning, and growing with ADHD. They share the strategies they have used to reduce shame, improve communication, and find happiness in their neurodivergent household. Delicious and devious. Bose takes a scalpel to suburban family life, expertly drilling down through the Insta-perfect surface to its dark, messy core. I loved it' Tammy Cohen, The Wedding Party

We also have Lauren who appears to have no friends (and again, despite her living in the same village it is not clear exactly why nobody likes her). Lauren is a target for Ciara's taunts so she's a prime suspect. What Worked: I love a messy story! And to be quite honest, the foundation of this story is built upon the messiness of each character. I appreciated that Bose took the time and effort to carefully develop the personality of each character. They were well rounded, interesting, and perfectly imperfect. As a result, I was extremely interested in the revelation of the character responsible for the death of Ciara and learned some not so great things about their husbands along the way. Clearly, this is a testament to Bose's skills as a writer. She was able to drag me into this town and get me invested in their drama as if I was a part of the community. Considering this, the most helpful part of this book should be that of the neurotypical teaching others how to treat people with ADHD, but Rich's part of the book was very hard to read. I kept feeling like he was talking about dogs. That whole "your ADHDer" thing that's said in almost every paragraph of the book was very painful to read.Bose masterfully creates deeply drawn and utterly human characters in this powerful suspense debut' Liv Constantine, The Last Mrs Parrish Ciara is the perfectly curated social media influencer with pristine children and a devoted clique of local mums; Lauren is the social outcast, judged for her free-spirited approach to parenting; Mishti, the most empathetically drawn of the three, is trapped in a loveless marriage far away from home. When one of them ends up murdered, the darker layers to their poisonous gossiping and societal performances are inevitably exposed. And there's earth mother Lauren Doyle, born, bred, and the butt of jokes in their village. With her disheveled partner and children who run naked in the yard, they're mostly a happy lot, though unsurprisingly ostracized for being the singular dysfunction in Ciara's immaculate world. When Lauren finds an unlikely ally in Mishti, she decides that her days of ridicule are over. This was a mess of a book, but in a fun way. It isn't the best domestic thriller that I've read, but it was interesting learning more about the intimate details of this small Irish village. 3.5 Stars If you have ADHD - or love somebody who does - DIRTY LAUNDRY will change your life, and your relationships.
