Treatment can begin on any day when fleas are seen on the animal, and repeated on any subsequent day fleas are seen. Tablets are suitable for cats and dogs weighing between 1kg and 11kg, including lactating and pregnant bitches and queens, but are not suitable for kittens or puppies under 4 weeks of age.

Capstar Tablets contain nitenpyram which starts working in 15 minutes, killing 95% of adult fleas within the first 6 hours and 100% of adult fleas within 24 hours. No specific monitoring is required for this medication, but your veterinarian may recommend routine testing depending on your pets' individual needs, other medications they may be on and/or the issue that initially caused your pet to be placed on this medication.
