Stain pad applicators are suitable for any kind of decking treatment, including oils, stains and paints. Decking oils penetrate the timber, waterproofing and replacing natural oils and resins that are lost over time.

The robust metal handle can be used with a standard wooden broom handle and many other types of extendable handles ( not included). One of the primary purposes of decking oil is to protect the wood from moisture, UV radiation, and other weathering elements.Stir the oil up, pour it out into a suitable container, and apply it to raised features such as railings using your paint brush – use long, even strokes as if you were painting a wall. The Osmo Decking Cleaning Brush has firm stiff bristles, perfect for many different cleaning jobs around the garden. The solution soaks right into the pores of the wood and revives its colour and replaces the natural oils that have been lost.

Periodic cleaning and reapplication of decking oil may be necessary, depending on the level of wear and exposure to the elements. Make sure you always check the coverage on the product page before purchasing and, if covering a dark or bright colour, you may need two or three coats. It’ll protect your decking from sunlight and rain, as well as resisting damage from foot-traffic, and being translucent it won’t change the appearance of the wood.
