About this deal

Finish - The finish on this isn’t long but neither too short - a little sweetness lingers on with some woody notes, hints of caramel, and citrus spice floating around. I can’t say anything bad about this fortunately. As a matter a fact its probably my favorite blend now.

The Bushmills team have been hosting whiskey tasting events with artists, highlighting the craft of distilling. The latest event was held at an artist glassblowing studio and workshop in Bermondsey Street, London. The idea is age-old craft “different hands, same techniques”. Time-honoured processes are used for both whiskey creation, from the coopers nailing the metal hoops around the barrels, to glassblowers with the long pipes and 1,600-degree glass furnaces.

It’s definitely on the fruitier side of the whiskey spectrum, and that’s not a bad thing. There’s plenty of other things going on here to balance out the experience and make for a really well rounded whiskey. The finish is not overly long, but very pleasant with a nice balance between the fruit and the toasted oak.

Taste: honey, raisins, grain. There is a spikiness of grain, it is not dominant and adds some gentle bite to this smooth dram. viscocity. You can definately taste malt! The taste is familiar, like a medium bodied single malt speyside malt. Glenfiddich 15? Aberfeldy? In The Sting, Robert Redford's character can be seen drinking Bushmills whiskey before the final con. Jourgensen, Al; Wiederhorn, Jon (9 July 2013). Ministry: The Lost Gospels According To Al Jourgensen. Boston, MA: Da Capo Press. ISBN 9780306822186. OCLC 811206550– via the Internet Archive. Taking a sip, the spirit is buttery smooth with a good weight to it. There’s the apples coming in again, along with the vanilla, but there’s also a bit of caramel and some cinnamon spice joining the party. Once the flavors are gone there’s a bit of a tingle left behind for the aftertaste, almost like you’d expect with a rye whiskey. Bushmills 21-year single malt – A limited number of 21-year bottles are made each year. After 19 years, bourbon-barrel-aged and sherry-cask-aged malt whiskeys are combined, which is followed by two years of finishing in Madeira drums.
