About this deal

For starters, Asus has endowed the ROG Swift PG27AQDM with a 26.5-inch OLED panel. While Mini LED panels have become very good in recent years, OLED panels are still superior when it comes to contrast. Not only does the panel offer a wide and accurate color gamut, but the overall image quality is simply stunning.

Manufacturers such as Acer, BenQ, Samsung, and many others are producing some of the best 27 inch monitors out there. Perfect for work, study, and leisure, we have some of the best 27 inch monitors right here at Ebuyer. When you think of displays with a 300Hz refresh rate, you typically picture desktop monitors with a Full HD resolution. However, Nexigo offers something on a smaller scale in the form of the NG17FGQ. This is a 17.3-inch portable monitor that offers a 300Hz refresh rate and connects to a laptop or desktop via HDMI or USB-C (DisplayPort Alt-Mode). Playing games on it from the latest Assassins Creed to Shadow of the Tomb Raider and putting the screen next to my IPS panel. You can see the difference, but I doubt I would care if I did not already own the IPS screen to compare it with. So I popped the screen over to a friends house to get his opinion, he said the colours do feel washed out a little, but for a gamer, I do not care, everything looks good.

What else should I consider when buying a 27 inch monitor?

This desk mount from Element Gaming promises to raise three monitors, each up to 28 inches, without demanding to be clamped onto your desk. Ebuyer were nice enough to send one over, so we’ll see how well it achieves that goal. We were impressed with the excellent overall image quality and contrast of the Xeneon 27QHD240 in our instrumented tests (and by simply using our eyeballs). The panel’s accuracy was near-flawless from the factory, meaning that users won’t need to tweak settings in the OSD to fix any obvious flaws. You won't believe your eyes when you see this monitor in action. The QHD screen will bring your games to life like never before. The 2560 x 1440 resolution is four times that of standard HD. You'll see the difference in the amazing detail and vivid colours on your screen. I daily use the Nixeus NX-VUE24A and the BenQ XL2730Z, I ditched my IPS gaming monitors for the amazing smooth game play I can get with both of these. While they are TN panels the game play experience in no way suffers and the Freesync implementation in both is outstanding. Refresh rate is more important to some users than others. You aren't exactly going to notice refresh rate while typing up as Word document. But gamers, in particular, benefit from the increase in smoothness afforded by a high-refresh monitor. As there's less time between the computer rendering an image at it being drawn to the monitor at a higher refresh rate, keyboard inputs and mouse movements feel more responsive.

You can find 1080p screens for cheaper, but there are few genuinely affordable 1080p gaming monitors as good as this. It's especially a good fit for competitive gamers that don't want to break the bank. The stand is the biggest disappointment for the monitor overall, as it sits at a fixed height with only tilt adjustment, making lining up to other screens in a multi-monitor setup difficult or impossible without an aftermarket stand. It also does not hold particularly stable, wobbling significantly more than the higher-end monitor (also using a 165Hz, 27”, IPS panel) I have it paired with. Standard VESA 100x100 mounts do bring versatility at least.

Features

Getting all of the monitors in position revealed some flaws in the design. Firstly, actually loading the monitor is quite an operation (if you’re using monitors towards the bigger end of the scale). We had to mount them face down, then move the assembly onto the stand all at once. Whatever, those details aside you're mostly getting the same 34-inch ultrawide and slightly curved proposition as before. The Samsung QD-OLED panel is carried over, which is a very good thing. Nvidia's frame synching tech that works with Nvidia GPUs. It basically allows the monitor to sync up with the GPU. It does this by showing a new frame as soon as the GPU has one ready.
