I have not tried this in a bathroom or wet room and cannot say whether it’d hold up – a few people on TikTok have said it’s fine; a few haven’t! Our One Coat Grout Pen is mould resistant and waterproof so it’s easy to clean and you can keep your grout looking sparkling white for longer. You need to pump the nib on a flat surface to prime ink into the nib then you can draw along the grout line without applying any pressure.

Waterproof formula – The grout cleaner pen is ideal for use in the bathroom or kitchen and dries within 60 minutes, meaning showers can be used shortly after application. It works for both wall and floor tiling and we have two different nib sizes to cater for differing grout widths.I had been meaning to try a grout pen for ages, in fact I bought one (via Rainbow chalk) and it sat unused on my desk for ages – partly out of nervousness but mostly out of lack of time. The pen's color flows smoothly and dries quickly, so while applying the color, have a damp cloth with some cleaning solution ready to easily wipe off any excess color that goes beyond the intended area. Make sure, if you have different tiles like crackle-glaze, that they are sealed before attempting this.

I used a 7ml one but they sell smaller and thicker (we accidentally bought a 15ml one and it was like a jumbo marker – we sent that one back). However, for maximum longevity, we suggest leaving the grout a full 12 hours to dry and settle to ensure it’s waterproof. To use the pen you shake, then push down on the nib to bring the ink out (a bit like those gold pens we all used in school? Depress the nib several times until the product flows and apply directly to the joint in an even coat. But only once – and the dark grout bled onto the tiles so badly that we had to tile an entire new layer over the section (because to remove them would’ve taken the plaster underneath off).

It’s worth mentioning that this is obviously freshly done and I can’t vouch for how long it lasts – but will of course share if there are any major flaws.
